James and Penelope Mark, Clarinet and Piano Duo:
James and Penelope Mark, both Prize-winners at the Royal College of Music, gave their first performance there in 1963. Since then they have performed numerous recitals together in the United States and Canada. In 2000 they released a CD, “Canadian Music for Clarinet”, which earned them an ECMA Award nomination. Their performance of S.C. Eckhardt-Gramatté’s “Rück-Rück” Sonata was featured in a documentary of her life produced by Buffalo Gals Pictures. Their repertoire includes the classic works for clarinet as well as lighter pieces and arrangements of standard popular songs.
